Join us as we respond to the call for relief, development and peace in the name of Christ.
Many local companies donate their empty cardboard boxes to us for recycling. We crush them in a large baler. We need someone who can stop a few hours each week to crush our stack of cardboard before the pile gets out of control.
Do you love to clean? Keeping our store clean and tidy is important to customer satisfaction and employee efficiency.
Join our Monday morning volunteers from 7-11am as they remove the pages from unsellable books so the paper can be recycled. The paper is bound together into large bales and sold by the truckload.
Initial Sorting of Donations
Very little training required. Use a handheld scanner and iphone app to determine if a book is worth selling in the store or on-line. Helpful if you can lift 30-40 pounds as this requires moving around boxes of books. Help out any time the warehouse is open: M-F 8am-4pm.
Or, for an even easier task, sort books into two piles... books with a bar code and books without a bar code. Sounds simple, right? But such a simple task helps books get processed faster.
Cashier or Retail Store Assistant
Would you be willing to serve as cashier in our retail store? You can simply sit by the cash register and check out customers. Or if you would like to take it one step further, you can assist the store by also shelving books and straightening shelves. Previous retail experience is not necessary but is helpful. Store hours are M-Th 10am-5pm, Fri 10am-7pm, Sat 10am-4pm
Packaging Books to be Mailed
We have over 60,000 books for sale on-line. We ship out our on-line orders daily. We are looking for someone who can help a morning or two each week to package the orders into mailers or boxes. Must be detailed and careful to make sure orders do not get mixed up. It is not fun dealing with an unhappy customer when they find out their book got shipped to Alaska but they live in New Jersy.
Listing books on On-Line Bookstores
Do you enjoy working on computers and consider yourself very detailed oriented? Because we sell used books on-line, our customers cannot see what they are buying. We need to be their eyes and thoroughly describe the condition of our books so the buyer knows exactly what they are getting. You can even be a little obsessive compulsive when it comes to your descriptions. We're okay with that.
Baling Paper for Recycling

Social Media Coordinator
Any facebook experts out there? We would love to have someone create a bunch of potential facebook posts, videos, ads, etc. (to be approved by the manager, of course) that we can schedule for daily delivery. We have a great facebook following and want to keep them up to date on our sales and happenings.
Our donation hours for community members to drop off their books are M, Tu, Th from 9am-3pm. We would be blessed to have someone available during a portion of that time to help unload donation boxes out of back seats and car trunks. If you want to help out even further, you could consider riding along as we pick up truckloads of books from local schools and libraries. Any help you can give is always greatly appreciated.
